“I’ve probably scrolled more miles with my thumb than I’ve driven in my car.”
That ain’t right. Wake up. Scroll. Go to bed. Scroll. On the train. Scroll. In line. Scroll. Totally goes against everything I believe in about being in this moment right here right now. I’m missing out!
Missing strangers looking at me in the eye. Missing smiles. Missing the sunshine and the cute dog passing me on the street. Missing my unread books on the nightstand. Missing nature in the changing seasons. Missing my OWN thoughts.
Over a year ago I started Unsocial Sunday and I’d like to share it with you. Every single Sunday (no matter what) is spent with zero social media. No Facebook. No Instagram. No Twitter. Straight up Sunday as it should be…
Sunday with family. Sunday relaxing on the couch. Sunday at the coffee shop. Sunday with a book. Sunday brunch. Sunday catching up on the phone with friends. Sunday cooking. Sunday not consumed with the photos of what my friends did last night or food pics from a new hot restaurant.
What will you notice? You’re. Freaking. Addicted. You will notice your urges to grab your phone and scroll. You will catch yourself and return to the moment – knowing Instagram will be there tomorrow. You will feel relieved. That you don’t have to compare your life to others because you are living yours- right here. right now. You will feel fulfilled. Remembering how often awesome this moment is on it’s own without the need to share with the world.
It’s almost the new year- you’re seeking resolutions – TRY THIS. Challenge yourself and try #unsocialsunday. Your one day a week to disconnect from the buzz and return to what is most important – your life!
I hope this serves you.
