So you’ve implemented many great sales tips- figured out time management and how to organize your day, your presentation skills are on point, you’ve identified your key 2016 sales goals and even started working out in the mornings. You are ready to make another small tweak to increase your performance and boost sales. Yet you do NOT want to spend more time in the office.
I have your answer and it’s not on your radar. It’s. Your. DIET.
It’s your energy like a rollercoaster over the course of your workday? Coffee high in the morning followed by intense hunger, next stuffed and tired, finally awake and starving again? This “up” and “down” cycle impacts our ability to concentrate and make clear decisions. Think about how much more productive and alert you would be with a steady energy level.
Here are some tips to maintain energy, improve productivity and ultimately increase sales:
- Prepare. Bring snacks. Like a kid, pack your lunch. Fresh fruit, vegetables, and protein. When you feel a little hungry, grab a snack instead of grabbing a sugary bar or eating a second big breakfast.
- Mindful eating. Eat slowly and pay attention to only eating your food. This is SO tough not to look at the computer or phone while eating but this tip will ensure we don’t eat too much.
- No sugar for afternoon snack. Our bodies crave sugar for the afternoon pick me up. Choose protein. Hard boiled eggs, lentil soup, celery and peanut butter, a handful of nuts. This will keep your blood sugar from spikes and drops.
Brown bag it. Experiment with these diet tweaks for 3 weeks and evaluate how it impacts your energy. Dragging in sales is not an option. Every minute counts and diet is may just be the missing ingredient!
